New training: MIO contraception consultation

Good contraceptive care starts with counselling on contraception. But what questions do you ask women? How to choose an appropriate contraceptive method in proper consultation? What information should not be missing during a contraception consultation? And practically: how do you organise all the logistics around contraception care best? These questions fit perfectly into an MIO training. All these questions are therefore reflected in the first MIO training of Titus Health Care: MIO contraception consultation. Good news: until the end of April, you can book this training at the introductory rate of €185. From 1 May, the training will cost €225.

What can I expect?

During the training MIO contraception consultation engage with colleagues about the Delivering good contraceptive care to women. The training is designed so that there is plenty of room to learn from each other and reflect on your own actions. In preparation for the training, all participants prepare a homework assignment. In this assignment, you give your vision at the most complete contraceptionconsult. Input from all participants is used as a guide during the MIO trainingDuring the training, different components will be covered such as anamnesis, wishes, counselling and organisation. Finally all participants can a case study of your own from practice present to the group. The aim of the MIO training is for you to can use knowledge from the training to set up or improve a contraception consultation.

Teachers: Mignon van Lammeren and Wendy Wielenga

Mignon van Lammeren and Wendy Wielenga provide training alternately MIO Contraception Consultation. Mignon van Lammeren is an obstetrician in Amsterdam. She has extensive experience in contraceptive care and already in 2012 she started a spiral clinic. Also Wendy Wielenga is an obstetrician. In 2018, she further specialised in contraception. She now has extensive experience in counselling on contraception and the placement of spirals and the implantable rod. Both Mignon and Wendy are as in vivo trainers authorised to train midwives to place spirals. 

Practical information

The training MIO contraception consultation takes about 3 hours, in addition there is a homework assignment that requires about 1 hour of preparation time. Accreditation has been applied for 4 points from KNOV (also for the contraception sub-registry). The cost for attending this training is €225. But, until the end of April, you can register for the introductory rate of €185! These costs include a delicious lunch before or after the training. You can register now via the webshop of Titus Health Care. For the training to take place, a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 12 participants is required. For this reason, free cancellation is possible up to 14 days before the training at the latest.
