Replacement IUD placed in hospital

22 September 2021

There is a separate DBC code for women who bring their own IUD to the hospital.
This is particularly important when the general practitioner or obstetrician refers the woman to a hospital after an unsuccessful implantation of the IUD. The doctor or midwife can request a replacement IUD from Titus Health Care free of charge and give it to the woman. When the DBC code is applied in the hospital, only the placement will be charged for and not the IUD itself. In this way, the woman does not have to pay twice for the IUD. This concerns DBC code care product 210301015 and DBC code care activity 037180.
