Less pain when placing an IUD: Carevix
An IUD is one of the most common contraceptive methods in the Netherlands. After all, an IUD is a very reliable form of contraception and after insertion you don't have to worry for a long time about whether or not you took the pill last night. Still, for a considerable group of women there is a barrier; 18-30% of women do not choose an IUD because of fear of pain. 42% of women would reconsider an IUD if the insertion were less painful. High time for change, then. Titus Health Care takes the first step in reducing pain during IUD insertion: Carevix.

What is Carevix?
Carevix is a gentle, woman-friendly alternative to hooking forceps. This innovative tool uses suction technology to grip the cervix, causing less pain and bleeding than traditional hooking forceps.
Why Carevix?
Carevix ensures less pain, less bleeding and high satisfaction among both women and caregivers. This ensures more comfort and less anxiety during IUD insertion. Thus, we lower the threshold for women to choose one of the most reliable methods of contraception: an IUD.
Scientifically based and practice-oriented
Research on pain reduction in IUD placement has shown that Carevix actually makes a difference. During a randomised study1 the pain scores of 100 women were compared when using traditional hooking pliers and Carevix. What was found? Carevix showed significantly lower pain scores when grasping the cervix, applying traction and inserting the coil. In addition, less blood loss was reported in the Carevix group, which increased patient satisfaction.
