Multi-Safe short is suitable for women with a smaller uterus. Thus, there is a suitable Multi-Safe IUD for everyone. Both Multi-Safe IUDs are effective for 5 years and more than 99% reliable.

How does the Multi-Safe short copper IUD work?

After insertion, the Multi-Safe short IUD gradually releases copper and you are immediately protected against pregnancy. Multi-Safe is effective for five years, but you can of course use the IUD for a shorter period. For example, in between pregnancies.

Functioning of the IUD:
- Copper paralyses the sperm cells and prevents the fertilisation of an egg
- Copper keeps an egg from implanting in the uterine wall

Multi-Safe short copper IUD as emergency contraception

Multi-Safe short also works as a morning-after method if the IUD is placed within 5 days of unprotected sex. This prevents any fertilised egg from implanting in the uterine wall. A copper IUD is the most effective form of emergency contraception. Read all about emergency contraception at morning-after.co.uk.
