CDA Minister De Jonge (Public Health) wants to reduce the number of (repeated) abortions by reimbursing the placement of sustainable contraceptives, such as an IUD, in abortion clinics.

One third of the women treated have had an abortion before. De Jonge writes: "The core of the problem with a large number of repeat terminations of pregnancy is the lack of adequate contraception.

The memo on Medical Ethics, which also includes euthanasia, will be discussed in the Lower House next autumn.
